
Why don’t ruggedized sedans ever sell?
To be fair, a rear-wheel-drive, late-’70s Nissan Bluebird SSS-E (-E = Bosch-derived fuel injection) probably isn’t the best example of a ruggedized anything.
In my last year of high school / first summer of college, I worked for the first Subaru dealer to open in our town…during the grand opening. This meant we had to stock the lot with all manner of Subaru models—also that existing owners could bring their vehicles by for service.
